Kofera, a startup that automates parts of the digital marketing process, has raised a pre-series A round. The investment was led by MDI Ventures, the venture capital arm of Indonesia’s state-owned telco Telkom.

The amount invested was not disclosed.

Kofera plans to boost product development and reach more customers. Indonesia, its home market, is one of the countries with the highest growth rates in digital ad spend.

The platform uses big data analytics, machine learning, and AI to make digital marketing campaigns more effective.

Kofera charges its clients a subscription fee which depends on the size of the ad budget spent through the platform. Ecommerce firms Blanja, Berrybenka, Tokopedia, Bhinneka, Luxola, Sejasa, and aCommerce already use the software, according to Kofera.

The startup was founded in 2015 by Bachtiar Rifai, Gayuh Tri Satria, Ryan Haryadi, and Ferry Ardhana Wahyu Hutama. It has previously been backed by Indigo, Telkom’s startup incubator.

Other investors in this round include Indosterling Capital, Discovery Nusantara Capital, and Gunung Sewu.
