- Woon Junyang, CEO of Singapore-based startup Infinium Robotics, has been charged by the Singapore government’s Ministry of Manpower over unpaid employee salaries.
- Junyang faces three counts of failing to “pay salary to employee upon dismissal,” and one count of failing to pay the salary “due on termination by the employee due to breach of contract by the employer.”
- The Ministry says that employers who fail to pay salaries to employees can be fined up to S$15,000 (US$11,000) and/or imprisoned up to six months. The penalty can be doubled for repeat offenders.
- Junyang declined to comment as court proceedings are still ongoing. Infinium is best known for its drone restaurant waiters.
