Bootstrap Alley has always been a popular segment across all our conferences, and it’s no different this year – with 241 startups exhibiting across both days. The conference hall was filled up quickly as attendees flocked to catch budding startups pitch their business model, showcase their product and prove themselves in the startup space.
Amidst all the noise and hubbub of a 5,200 (and growing) strong conference, it’s easy to get lost in the crowd.
But these five caught our attention amongst all the buzz.
Kobe
Who’s an “influencer”? Movie stars, bloggers, viral video hit-makers, high-profile athletes are usually the ones that come to mind. But what if I told you that you could be an influencer too?
Meet Kobe, a self-serve word-of-mouth marketplace. Built with in-depth social profiling and visual recognition technologies, they match social media users to businesses – giving them access to scalable word-of-mouth marketing while rewarding social media users. They’re set to disrupt the advertising industry with their revolutionary influencer marketing technique.
GRINGGO
Remember those times when you had to throw trash but couldn’t find a proper recycling bin? Or when you had a bunch of bulky recyclables such as IT gadgets but didn’t know where to properly dispose of them? And those times you “forgot” to separate out the recyclables?
With GRINGGO, it’s not all too difficult to make a difference at a greater convenience. They’re a small startup with big dreams to tackle the perpetual problem of trash. Their trash-tech solution aims to connect communities to the nearest waste bins, recyclers and reliable trash services. The cherry on top of the cake? You can even earn cash and rewards for recycling your waste!
HaloHola
Let’s face it, as connected as we are today, there’ll be times on the road when there are no bars on our signal and we just can’t get online.
Well, HaloHola is your lifeline! They’re the first in Indonesia to provide onboard entertainment streaming service. Even without an internet connection, you can still stream videos, play games, or read a magazine at zero data cost! They’ve signed a deal with the largest train operator in Indonesia and are currently entering major Indonesia airports. Soon you can wave goodbye to uneventful long flights, layovers and train rides.
Dokter Sehat
Accessibility to healthcare is a constant problem. Even in densely populated cities, the system can become a victim of its own success with the long queues.
Here’s where Dokter Sehat comes to play. Aimed to improve quality and accessibility to healthcare through technology, users get convenient access to health information such as professional health articles, first aid tips, health directories, and more. They also provide free online consultation from their group of qualified doctors – all answered within 24hrs.
OmniVR
VR is showing limitless possibilities as more startups enter to reach consumers in new ways. OmniVR is one that’s bringing VR into the gaming arena. With their elaborate demo setup, there was no way we could miss them.
In the near future, OmniVR will be launching VR arcades where users can explore a new world and lose themselves in virtual reality. Be sure to look out for the VR arcades that may soon be near you, it’s an experience that must be tried at least once in a lifetime!
Did they pique your interest? Well, there’s still more to come as a brand new set of startups will be exhibiting tomorrow. So stay tuned on everything that’s happening at #tiajkt2016 via our social media updates, or catch us live on Facebook and Youtube!
