You don’t need machine learning algorithms to determine that artificial intelligence is hot right now. AI-powered marketing startup Appier is reaping the benefits by topping up its series B round with an extra US$19.5 million, according to an announcement today.

The additional capital is pooled with the US$23 million the company initially raised for its series B in November 2015. It comes from Pavilion Capital (part of Singapore’s Temasek), WI Harper Group, FirstFloor Capital, and Qualgro.

This brings Taiwan-based Appier’s total series B round to US$42.5 million. To date, the company has raised US$49.5 million in funding.

Appier has been demonstrating its AI insights in user behavior reports.

With the extra funding, Appier will pilot its Aixon platform in Taiwan, Japan, and Singapore. Aixon gives businesses AI-enabled tools that can help them extract marketing insights from user data.

Appier has been demonstrating some of the insights its AI tools can produce in market research reports that analyze user behavior, like its Cross Screen User Behavior Report.

The company will also use the funding to continue research and development on AI-powered products, expand to more markets in Asia, and hire more staff.

Appier says its business has tripled since this time last year, although no specific figures are mentioned. It claims to serve over 500 brands and agencies around the world.

We’ve reached out to Appier for more details and will update this story when we hear back.
