Your TIA Singapore 2017 adventure is (almost) complete with these speakers

In the lead up to Tech in Asia Singapore 2017, a slew of speakers have been introduced to their all-star roster. Aside from Adi Tartako (Houzz), Alexis Ohanian (Reddit), Min-Liang Tan (Razer) and Maximilian Bittner (Lazada), some of the latest additions also include heavyweights such as Khailee Ng (500 Startups), Rosaline Chow Koo (CXA Group), and Billy Alvardo (Stripe).

Now, with Tech in Asia’s flagship conference just round the corner, here is another preview of five additional speakers who will grace the event this May 17 & 18 to talk about all things tech.

Without further ado, let’s carry on with their introductions!

Hanno Stegmann, CEO, Asia Pacific Internet Group

On Day 2 at the Main Stage, Hanno will join Grace from Tencent to share insights on how the tech M&A landscape is heating up.

Asia Pacific Internet Group’s (APACIG) portfolio currently consists of 17 fast-growing online companies across 15 markets in the APAC region. As CEO, Hanno oversees these companies from the regional perspective. His expertise has helped some of them experience unprecedented growth and reached new heights.

Before serving as the CEO of APACIG, Hanno was the CFO and Managing Director of SevenVentures, one of the leading German venture funds. Previously, he was also a strategy consultant at Boston Consulting Group.

Robin Kwok, Airbnb Country Manager (SEA, Hong Kong & Taiwan)

Robin will join Feng-Yuan (GovTech) and Michael (Uber) in a fireside chat on how the sharing economy is evolving. Their session takes place at the Main Stage on Day 1.

As the Airbnb Country Manager, Robin sets the strategic direction for the region and collaborates with all their teams to execute on it. Apart from that, she regularly makes an effort to mentor her employees to help them achieve their full potential.

Robin’s also always looking for ways to improve the Airbnb experience for her customers. Just recently, she introduced this new feature, “Experiences”, which allows travelers to be immersed in the local culture of the country they’re touring.

Shaun Chong, CTO, Ninja Van

Catch Shaun on Day 1 at the Developer & Product Stage as he outlines the steps you need to take to achieve product market fit.

Gleaned from his previous stints at Nubefy and Alpst, Shaun has more than half a decade of entrepreneurial and technical experience under his belt. As the co-founder and CTO of Ninja Van, he plays a vital role in shaping the last-mile logistic startup’s technological landscape, as well as overseeing the engineering and product management team to fulfill the company vision.

Fun fact: Shaun was the one who came up with the name Ninja Van!

Feng-Yuan Liu, Director, Data Science Division, Government Digital Services, GovTech Singapore

Together with leaders from Airbnb and Uber, Feng-Yuan will be discussing how Airbnb and Uber are evolving.

As the director of the Data Science Division in GovTech, Feng-Yuan oversees a team of scientists who are well-versed in different disciplines to aid the formulation of public policy and service delivery through data-driven principles.

Passionate about using technology for public good, Feng-Yuan was also one of the key personnel involved in creating the Beeline mobile application, which allows commuters to book advance spots on express bus rides for smooth transits.

Virginia Yang, Head of Product, Mimetic.ai

Want to get started on AI programming? Virginia will be sharing the nuts and bolts of AI programming at the Developer & Product stage (Day 1)

Before joining Mimetic.ai, Virginia has accumulated a wealth of experience through previous portfolios at notable tech corporations such as Microsoft, Yahoo and PayPal.

She recently delved into the world of artificial intelligence by joining Mimetic.ai as their Head of Product. Having a knack for tinkering with products and solving real world problems, Virginia uses customers’ feedback to improve their AI personal assistant, Evie, saving users more time and making their lives easier.
