Nintendo’s newest console, the portable-except-when-you-don’t-want-it-to-be Switch, had an arguably strong launch in March when it debuted with The Legend of Zelda‘s latest offering, Breath of the Wild. The game looks well on its way to contending for the coveted Game of the Year award, but unfortunately, even a game as perfect as Breath of the Wild can only support sales and interest in an entirely new platform for so many months. Nintendo fans and industry critics alike seem to be anticipating the platform port of Mario Kart 8, which debuted on the Wii U console, to see if it can successfully maintain hype for the Switch. Initial impressions are looking real good.
